Open internet workshops with Sylvana D'Angelo.
Learn how to use the internet for your practice.
Many of you have been hearing about "the Internet". You may be wondering, how can I make the Internet work for me? How do I unlock its secrets? The Internet can provide many opportunities for the young artist.
Shudder Gallery proudly presents a workshop presentation by Sylvana D'Angelo to reveal these mysteries.
Each week we will build on the previous week's skills to create new and exciting websites and images. Pick and choose the classes you need, or come to all of them.
It is recommended that you bring a laptop computer.

TUESDAY JUNE 12 7PM - WEEK ONE | online intro
- building an online website with sub pages. Includes basic text tags, links and images
- portfolio options
- blogger and tumblr, Etsy and Ebay
TUESDAY JULY 10 7PM - WEEK TWO | Wordpress & CSS
- Wordpress and index exhibit
- uploading using FTP and editing online
- intro CSS and basic HTML
TUESDAY AUGUST 7 7PM - WEEK THREE | Images, forms, Java
- sizing images for web and image file types
- intro to logos, branding, continuity and favicons
- finding forms
- borrowing javascripts
TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 4 7PM - WEEK FOUR | video and web
- preparing video for web
- Quicktime and After Effects
- Youtube, Vimeo and flash (NOTE: this is not a class on making video with flash, we will only discuss its applications)
TUESDAY OCTOBER 9 7PM - WEEK FIVE | Open workshop
-bring in your projects and we'll work on them!
$25 a class
or $100 for the full series
the class runs 2 hours each session
bring your personal projects early or stay later for extra help and tutoring included with your tuition
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THIS CLASS
- if you attend all classes you will have a working, original online presence including a portfolio, online store, blog or web site
- the ability to maintain a continuous online profile, easy to update image gallery's, store, video ext
- a sharp polished look that will improve your chances to receive bursaries, grants, artist residency's, jobs or the ability to earn more with your online store
