last night me and hannah went to see this doxa film.
it is about the 70's artist otto muhl and the children that grew up on his commune.
the “utopian” commune of acclaimed vienna artist otto muhl was one of the most controversial artistic and social experiments of the 1970s. muhl created the commune for like-minded artists and friends and built friedrichshof, a compound in the austrian countryside. the community was based on ideas of common sexuality, common property and the abolition of parent-child relationships — all within a veiled artistic and utopian vision.
~~ i enjoyed it very much. it was an interesting look into another way of life and at the end of the film i felt ever more sure that no matter how hard anyone might try, you cannot live separate from society.
